I have a son who is all about sports. That is all he wants to do is play Basketball, football and baseball. This book came at the perfect time! I was trying to introduce the idea of a career in something besides sports. I read this book to him and now I have a son who wants to play professional sports and be an engineer with a degree from The University of Notre Dame:) The pictures are too fun and realistic.

I just received the book I ordered for my grandson in the mail. I am extremely pleased with it! Simple dialogue with colorful illustrations will make this a favorite...he loves books and I think this is a great read for him.Children need dreams and realistic expectations in life. This book offers both...thanks Mr. Carter. I'll be watching for Coby's next experience.

I really enjoyed this book for several reasons. The author represents cultural diversity by centering the story on an African-American boy named Coby and his family. Coby loves playing sports; his mother encourages him not to put all his eggs in one basket. She reminds him of the successful lemonade stand business he ran last summer. Coby decides he wants to be an athlete and a successful entrepreneur when he grows up. Coby's younger sister Lainey gets inspired as well; she is already contemplating starting her own business. This is one book of a planned series to explore a multitude of possibilities for success and not accept being placed in stereotypical roles. The illustrations are bright and work effectively with the realistic, conversational text. I hope to see many more books in the series to inspire children in the elementary grades.
