I am originally from Indianapolis and my sister (still living there) recommended this bookMany of the crimes reported in this book, I have personal recollections of. The most interesting to me was the brutal murder of DETECTIVE SERGEANT JACK R. OHRBERG, Robbery & Homicide Unit of the Indianapolis Police Department. Jack was a close friend and one-time mentor of mine. I wrote "THE EXECUTION OF JUSTICE", recounting the circumstances leading up to Jack's murder. Jack was not in favor of the death penalty, but I think when his killers were finally executed, he was looking down, and finally he saw Justice was served.I highly recommend "HISTORIC INDIANAPOLIS CRIMES" by FRED D. CAVINDER. It is very well written and the facts are laid out for the reader in all the gorey details. You do not have to be a native of Indianapolis to enjoy this book.It is well deserving of FIVE STARS.Michael Phelps
